    The New Age of Energy and Connectivity Revolutions 

    Many devices are at risk of exploding due to battery limitations.

    We will run out of bandwidth for our devices as well.

    Connectivity
    Two systems that we need to get going are SOLID connections. Guaranteed like electricity is guaranteed, and available all over. The industrial revolution ran on electricity. We must run on connectivity.

    Another thing to do is to start an ISP. This is not easy, and competition seeks to shut this down in as many cases as possible. I do know some people who started ISPs in their countries 30 years ago. Not sure how feasible it would be to do now. Ideally start with colleges to see how far they can go, or provide a better Internet service than what existing providers provide. Eat some of the costs for a couple of years until the subscriber base threatens the larger players, then either get purchased or raise enough funds to expand the service and take the main ISPs head on.

    Let’s look at connectivity today through the lens of the Electrification industry:

We CANNOT depend on Internet-connected electronics if we don’t have stable connections. OR we must rewrite future technologies to work well ON and OFF network.

    “Without a reliable supply of electricity, we couldn’t use the lightweight, powerful electric motors that make elevators possible; without elevators, skyscrapers wouldn’t exist—and the dramatic skylines of the world’s major metropolises would be considerably more modest. Without a reliable supply of electricity, kidney dialysis machines and other life support equipment would be useless to the many patients who depend on them. Without electricity to power traffic lights, the commute to and from work would be mayhem—or maybe not. Without electricity to power automobile factories, we wouldn’t have streets and highways full of automobiles either. Indeed, more than half the engineering achievements celebrated in this book would not have been possible without the widespread electrification that occurred in the 20th century, not only in the United States but also in other industrialized nations around the world.”

    Com Hem Revs Up 500-Meg Broadband Tier

    “Com Hem, Sweden’s largest cable operator, is stretching the legs of its broadband network with the rollout of a broadband tier that maxes out at 500 Mbps downstream and 50 Mbps in the upstream.

    Available to “over 1 million households,” the new tier will set customers back SEK 899 (US$138.03) per month and give the MSO another high-end weapon to wield against competing telcos such as Telenor ASA and TeliaSonera AB.”
